No Problem Mon!

It is Jamaica mon! Lots of fun! We went bobsledding, which fed my adrenaline rush. We went to the top of Mystic Mt. and listened to music and watched dancing.Great energy! Then we went the bobsled. I pushed it full opened and screamed down the mountain like a little girl. Monumentous! Next we arrived at Dunns River Falls. Hundreds of people waiting their turn. I had my waterproof camera (thanks Rocky!) and into refreshing water I went! We held hands and everyone helped each other, regardless of nationality.Very cool! WE held hands, slid down rocks, swam in pools and walked all the way to the top. (about 800') As this was a short day, we headed back immediately and arrived at the port in enough time to get on board and head back to sea and on to Ft. Lauderdale. This has been an interesting experience. Getting back to my roots. See you next time! Love, Kerry

To Hell and Back!!

Hello everyone, We anchored out in the channel near Georgetown, Grand Cayman, and had to take a tender (small boat) to the port. I took a local bus to Hell, a small town that you can say,"I went to Hell and back!"I mailed a postcard with the Hell stamp on it and continued on my way.I went to the eastern side of the island, where I saw the blowholes with wind and surf pushing up through the sharp black rocks. Afterwards,I got back on the bus and arrived at the QE Botanical Park. It was 65 acres of native flora and fauna. Their claim to fame was the blue iguana which is similar to the ones I have seen at Fairchild. They are magnificant reptiles who are very endangered and protected. Georgetown is very built up as you leave the city. Sun was shining and I came back on board in just enough time to shower and meet some new friends for dinner. Tomorrow is Falmouth, Jamaica mon. Roatan, Honduras

Hi everyone, Today I visited Roatan, Honduras and it was a great place! It has hills and mountains. I hired a taxi and Freddie Christian were my guides. They took me to the Roatan Museum which told of the ancient natives who settled here on the island as well as artifacts like pottery and ceramics. The main source of income on the island is Tourism. Then we went to the Carambola Botanical Gardens which were very jungle-like. I climbed to the top of the mountain trail and had a view of the entire bay near Anthony's Cay. Pretty spectacular! I returned via some local markets and purchased some local Lenka pottery and black coral. We are leaving early, so I quickly walked to the local beach and along the path, surprise!, a hummingbird nest! On to the Cayman Islands tomorrow! Enjoy the pictures!!! Love, Kerry

Cozumel, Mexico

Buenas Dias! We docked around 8 this morning in beautiful Cozumel, Mexico. (Juan, I passed Cuba yesterday and waved for you and your family.) I walked across the gangway and the bridge into the town of San Miguel. Cozumel is a diverse place with the hawkers on the main street and the "real" Cozumel just a few blocks away. Everything is colorful and people are quite friendly. I went to an old Catholic cemetery that had markers that were from the mid 1800's. The Plaza San Miguel was alive with people, old and young, restaurants and plenty of shops. I browsed, ate lunch at Casa Denis with authentic Mexican flavors and was even serenaded by guitar to a tune that translated - Nothing is better than Cozumel. Quite lovely Here are some pictures I took around Cozumel. Viva Mexico! Kerry

The MSC Poesia

Hi everybody! The MSC Poesia is a large ship, but most are so big, it is hard to tell the difference! We didn't leave until 6 PM on Saturday evening. I arrived around mid day, had a great buffet lunch and went to explore the vessel. It has a2 story theatre where we all met to see all the presenters and even Dr. Neal Bernard. Very cool. We had the requesite safety drill where we went to the muster station. We stood around with our lovely orange life preservers on and I met some very nice people. And that was the order of the day, nice people everywhere! Had a gread vegan dinner with stuffed mushrooms, kale salad anda sweet and sour dish. Well presented and delicious. I have included some pictures of the ship. Tomorrow we will be crossing the Florida Straits,so it might get a bit rough. The entertainment is top noch. See you later. Love, Kerry
